I have always said to myself if only I had kept a diary of each gig and turned it into a book it would be a best seller but readers would regard it as a work of fiction as all the things in it could not possibly have happened.Ah but they did!!!!
In this page I will attempt to rack my brains about everything that has happened since I joined Beggars Row trying very very hard to protect the guilty!! A big chunk will have to be missed out or at least altered a little.

Before I attempt to put what is in this guiness and gin/vodka/whisky/brandy/buckfast sodden brain( for the benefit of any foreign visitor to Scotland buckfast is a very fine vintage wine and is on the wine list of any exclusive hotel in Scotland, order it with your dinner and say Beggars Row recommended it)  into the written word I would like to share the band's disappointment at not being involved in the Skagen Festival Denmark this year, June 2004 as it is one of the best folk festivals on the planet.Beggars Row played ther in 2002 and 2003. My memory of it is arriving in Skagen, getting the key to the "digs" dumping my suitcase in the room, heading to the festival and returning to collect my suitcase 3 days later having never slept in the bed , or any other bed come to think of it!!,and hunting for the nearest shop that sold aspirin before heading for Aarhus airport. It is that kind of festival.I will miss meeting all our Danish friends this year and was looking forward to seeing one of my heroes, Donovan Leitch performing there.

Ah well there is always next year!!

I would like to give a personal thank you to Dave Tearney who started the whole European story off by having faith in us by giving us the first gig at Leeuwarden,Bent from Art and Music for his continued support in Denmark, Winnie and Theus for their loyalty and for starting the Dutch fan club which I know will go from strength to strength, and to all those who have supported us by attending our concerts. Thanks a million and I look forward to seeing you all again in the near future.
