Tuesday 31st August 2004
Just returned from another successful weekend in Holland. On Friday 27th we had the
honour of playing at the wedding of Henri and Liesann from Meppen. When we are in Holland and Denmark we are treated like royalty!
We were put up in the home of Lisa and Corrie who own riding school and stables and we were lacking for nothing, crates of
Amstel and Heiniken beer which by magic refilled as soon as they were empty, bottles of whisky, enough food to feed an army
and the house to ourselves to relax in or do whatever we wanted.
There must have been about 300 guests at the wedding and everyone stayed until the
end dancing and having a whale of a time.Perhaps the free bar all night helped a lot.I think we eventually crawled into bed
about 5am (Nothing changes)
On Sat 28th we played in New Amsterdam at the Cafe de Lantaarn.
We would like to thank the band Krap An for the use of their pa for both of the gigs. They
could not have been more helpful.Again a great night in a packed pub as a lot of the wedding guests had come to see us again
and we really appreciate the loyalty of the Dutch fans.
On the Sunday we just chilled out and Ricky was sober enough to go horse riding.
He was the only one by the way!!
On Monday 30th we stayed with Winnie and Theus and family in Woudenberg. Again we
would like to thank them enormously for their continued support in running the Dutch fan club. They really are doing a great
job for us in Holland, not to mention also the three bottles of Grouse they put on the table to wash down the Chinese buffet
we ordered.I think Davey managed to polish off two and a half of them before crashing out on the sofa.Happy Days!!
We must have about 100 photographs from this trip so watch the photo gallery as we
will add them in the next few days.We are looking forward to our next trip to Holland in November so watch this space for
deatails.Again many thanks to Liesann and Henri for a wonderful weekend and we wish them every happiness in their lives together
and looking forward to meeting them again at a future concert.
